Marshalls

The main objective of marshals is to ensure the physical safety of spectators and to ensure fair play for the professionals. This is achieved through gallery control using the marshal’s hands, eyes and voice. Please see Duties of Gallery Marshals for more information.

Marshals are needed Friday, Saturday & Sunday. You must sign up for at least two days, preferably all three. Marshals may sign-up for mornings, afternoons or both. Uniforms are mandatory.

Walking Scorers

Walking scorers follow a group of professionals during play in order to gather statistical information regarding each player’s performance. Please see Walking Scorers Instructions for more information.

Walking scorers must be available all three days, Friday through Sunday. Priority is given to returning scorers. Sorry, no shift preferences are given to walking scorers. Uniforms are mandatory.

Transportation

Transportation volunteers shuttle players to/from the airport, golf course, hotels, etc. Volunteers are needed in transportation all days Sunday, August 15th through Monday, August 23rd. A valid driver’s license is required. Uniforms are mandatory.

The Tournament Will Provide To All Volunteers:

One (1) volunteer credential, which will provide admission every day of tournament week and will identify you as an official tournament volunteer.

One (1) additional Weekly Tournament Ticket.

One (1) volunteer parking pass.

Complimentary coffee and pastries during morning check-in.

Complimentary lunch & beverage in the volunteer hospitality pavilion.

Designated volunteer party Saturday, August 20th immediately following the conclusion of play.

FAQ’s

Q: What is required to volunteer at the Safeway Classic?
A: Each volunteer is required to purchase their uniform ($26; Nike Golf Polo).

Q: Can I be scheduled to work with a friend?
A: Make a note of whom you would like to work with, and we can usually honor your requests.

Q: How long is a shift?
A: A typical shift is about 5-6 hours long. It depends on the day and the hole. Shifts are shorter on Sunday as the field is cut in half.

Q: How can I get scheduled to work on my favorite hole?
A: Mark your preference on your application. Holes will be filled in the order the applications are received.
