Blue skies, sunshine, and fresh cut grass are all signs that the 2010 LPGA Safeway Classic is just around the corner. Operations at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club are underway and we are excited to see the construction progress on the 18th green grandstands, the Safeway Skybox and the Champions Club Skybox. Both the grandstands and skyboxes include new locations for improved spectator viewing.
These amazing views that you will experience as a spectator will surely stir up euphoria and an appetite, but no need to fret, the Safeway Classic has you covered with the Safeway Food Pavilion. The Safeway Food Pavilion is a spectator’s favorite due to Safeway’s delicious in store product samples from over 50 different vendors. If that is not enough, there are plenty of concession stands and the public is welcome in the Champions Grill in the Clubhouse.
The 2010 Safeway Classic will not only offer world-class experiences off the course, but will present spectators with the best in women’s professional golf. We expect all of the top 50 golfers to play in the Safeway Classic, including the 2010 Women’s British Open and the 2010 Kraft Nabisco Championship champion Yani Tseng and the 2009 Safeway Classic defending champion M.J. Hur. Also participating will be the 2010 LPGA Championship winner Cristie Kerr and the number one player in the world and current LPGA money leader Jiyai Shin. Fan favorites Michelle Wie and Natalie Gulbis are expected to compete.
Tournament week for the 2010 Safeway Classic begins on August 16th and tournament play takes place on August 20th to the 22nd. If you are interested in tickets please see the “Tickets” tab on our website.
